Do you here that? It's the sound of me having a good week. The kids have been gone for a week now and I have been out and about, too! I haven't been home much at all with all the rummaging, estate sale-ing, and salvaging I've been doing. Then, I came home to my first sale on
Etsy.com, and a mailbox full of great catalogs and the October issue of House Beautiful - my favorite decorating magazine. Things are GOOD for this junking, thrifting, decorating, crazy lady on the go!
Here is a quick peek at some of the great things I found. Remember, if you see anything you like, just let me know and I'll start shopping for you!

This is an original oil on canvas called "Winter's Children" by Rosalie Sadenwater. I picked it up at an estate sale. It is signed and dated 1965. It is AMAZING, so darling and an awesome treasure! I'd keep it because it is so cool, but I HATE WINTER so I'm selling this one on Ebay!! The artist passed away at age 87 and her obituary talked of her knowledge and love of art - click her name link above and read more about her.

This is an original water color I picked up at a Thrift shop. I absolutely love the soft colors and gentleness of the farm scene. It's not signed or dated, but it's old and I had to have it. It broke my heart because on the back a note is written about how Nana loved this picture and where she used to hang this in the "LaGrange house." Heart breaking because the kids gave it away to a thrift shop. Poor Nana. I'll take care of it for you. I won't sell this one, Nana.

This cute little side table needs some spray paint and some love, but for $15 it was a fantastic find at an estate sale. The glass is in perfect condition and I really like the faux bamboo look. It was a diamond in a really rough sale. I will show you the after shot once I complete this project!

Oh, man. I think I was born in the wrong era - I just really like mid-century modern style. I think it's my favorite. Look at this handsome dresser, credenza, or flat screen TV base. It was solid wood, had dove tailed drawers, and was only $60 at a thrift shop. I am kicking myself that I did not purchase this, but I have NO WHERE to put it. If you want it, I'll go get it for you, refinish it in a sleek color and deliver it to your house. It deserves a better home with the danish modern lines and wavy drawers. Sigh... I'm in love. But, we're star crossed lovers because it would just not work in my home. Bummer for me, but how about you? Need a danish lover?

How about this find!! A FIRST EDITION Pulitzer Prize winning book written by JFK. Uh, ya, it's on Ebay. The vintage eye glasses are a mix between horn rims and cat eyes and can be found in my Etsy.com shop (I figured out how to attach the link, but you can also search Affordable Adornment). The lenses are clear - fashion only - these are for the hipster fashionista in you! HA! But, really I bought them because I thought they would be a cool thing to place on a nightstand, on a desk, or on a shelf. You never know what could make for a cool home accessory! Don't they make me look SMART!!
