Ah. There is nothing like a brand new 64 pack of Crayola crayons. I took this picture last night as I was loading the back packs for the first day of school. The fresh, sharp tips are just waiting to create masterpieces. Today marks the beginning of school, but I want you to think of this box of crayons another way.
Look around the room you are in right now. Do you see any colors or are you living in a beige and cream box? Can you imagine if we bought a 64 pack of crayons with just variations of beige? There would be crayons called tan, taupe, latte, cappuccino, sand, stone, dirt, dust, mud, blah, etc. But, there is a reason Crayola does not do this. It's because life is colorful. Your home should be, as well. Don't get me wrong, I don't think your home should be loud with color, but I do think some color is good! So, take inspiration from the crayon box and create a masterpiece in your space with color. Just a bit of green or red here or there. Think back to when you were in school, did you have a favorite crayon color? Mine was "cornflower blue." Try sprinkling a little blue around and it will really liven up your space. Better yet, frame one of the masterpieces your child brings home. You know it will be colorful just based on the tools they are given!
Oh, and yes, now I am FREE! Free from 8:30-4 M-F to do whatever I want! WooHoo! I have had a wonderful summer, but this is going to be a great fall.
